Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Transportation, the Transportation Router coordinates district transportation services with schools and bus contractors and monitors bus contractor route performance. Interacts with district staff, bus drivers, bus contractor supervisors, students, parents, and the community at\-large. When requests for service, changes in service, or information regarding the quality of transportation service are received, the Special Education Router will facilitate quality service by meeting the needs of bus riders yet maintaining adherence to state, federal and district policies. Analyzes the system for overloads, time of runs/routes, and non\-compliant bus stops, and determine a course of action and make changes accordingly, revises and distributes detailed records of busing schedules to schools and contractors on an ongoing basis and prepare the yearly busing information mailing for students.
