PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Reporting to the Manager, Reservations, you will play a key role in supporting the Reservations team by delivering full‑service travel products and solutions at the best value to CPKC. This role requires a strong customer service professional - someone positive, upbeat, and driven - with previous background in a travel agency environment.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Answer incoming calls to Crew Travel and book hotel rooms for union employees in a timely and professional manner
Determine customer needs and then provide the appropriate information and guidance to complete a reservation for them
Communicate with suppliers to collect and exchange information regarding hotels/airline/car rentals
Advise the customer of appropriate restrictions, terms and conditions of travel services
Complete client files, reservation information, payment details and following proper accounting requirements
Following up on customer inquiries in a timely manner
May also book, plan, and arrange itineraries for flights, car rentals using Concur, Sabre or through our Travel agency
Enter data into our software and maintain client files
Respond to customer inquiries to ensure complete handling of the caller’s requests
Make suggestions for ways of improving workflows and processes
Assist with credit card reconciliation on a weekly basis in preparation for monthly deadline

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1st or 2nd year post-secondary student enrolled in a travel or tourism, or related program
Good knowledge of computer reservations systems and experience in a call center environment
Must be familiar with Excel, Outlook, Shared Drives
Exhibit strong computer skills, excellent customer service skills and take action to resolve customer inquiries promptly
Effective verbal and written communication, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
