Job Summary
Utilize and enhance current enterprise tools, systems, and workflows to aid Project Management Practitioners in efficiently managing, controlling, and reporting on cost, schedule, and progress measurement for low complexity projects. Collaborate closely with the assigned Project Manager and team members to develop project schedules, cost performance reports, and risk registers while receiving supervision from a senior-level Controls Practitioner or PMO Director.
Essential Functions
Collaborate with Project Manager and team to develop project schedule, risk register, and budget baseline using standard templates and tools within project parameters.
Collect project performance data, including quantities, labor, progress measurements, and track potential changes to ensure visibility of cost and schedule change estimates for the client and project management, integrating them for performance reporting.
Support the Project Manager in maintaining project schedules and baseline reviews within approved parameters, while also assisting the Project or Program Manager in evaluating project risks and developing mitigation plans.
Partner with stakeholders to assess project readiness and forecast budgets.
Manage Controls data using approved systems with Amtrak Project Management methodology.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
Plus 3 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
Plus 5 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of project controls, including schedule management, reporting, and financial skills such as budget management and reporting.
Effective oral and written communication skills across all levels.
Ability to organize and analyze large volumes of financial, risk, and schedule performance data.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project), MS SharePoint, SAP, and BPC.
Experienced in project controls management at a project level, including cost, scheduling, and estimating.
The salary/hourly range is $78,600.00 – $101,844.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
