The BNSF Railway
Finance Department
provides innovative strategic solutions and world-class financial services to support BNSF's overall performance. Within the Finance Department, several specialized departments contribute to its overall mission: Controller, Revenue Management, Strategic Sourcing, Tax, Treasury, and Strategic Studies. These ranges reflect what BNSF Railway reasonably expects to pay for this position, based on the role’s level, scope, and responsibilities. Final compensation and position level will be determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base pay and bonus eligibility, BNSF offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities may include:
Â
Development
 of processes, models, and reports to accurately monitor and forecast expenses
Performing
 balance sheet accruals, analysis support, metric reporting, and other projects relative to informational needs of business partners utilizing various tools
Leading/facilitating
weekly and monthly budget reviews and forecasts with assigned budget areas
Assisting
 in the development of performance measures, strategic initiatives and annual plans
Analyzing
 complex data to understand operational trends and the corresponding financial impact and make appropriate recommendations to team leaders and business partners to drive to the lowest cost possible
Daily work
 is conducted in an indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications:
Â
Able to work now and in the future without BNSF’s assistance (whether monetary, through sponsorship, or otherwise) in obtaining, maintaining, or extending employment authorization (including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN nonimmigrant status).Â
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field.Â
Minimum of two years of experience in finance/ accounting or comparable industry experience.Â
Strong communication skills and ability to challenge/influence business partners with expense leverage concepts.
Ability to coordinate tasks and make decisions independently.
Ability to adjust readily to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
Personal computer skills (Office Suite) and ability to effectively use BNSF data systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Â
At least one year of work experience in budgets and/or forecasting, or comparable industry experience.Â
Advanced Excel skills and/or SQL.
Good understanding of BNSF’s responsibility income statement and forecast process.
Working knowledge of financial statements and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
