This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11, 2026, until August 28, 2026. Job Summary The Intern, Safety is responsible for improving safety performance by augmenting CN鈥檚 reliance on Safety Information and Technology (I T) as well as automating current safety processes. The incumbent explores various dimensions of workplace safety as well as learns and uses computer skills to improve CN safety programs. During the internship, the role receives the Manager鈥檚 guidance and expertise to ensure successful implementation of projects. The position uses initiative, drive for continuous improvement, and effective communication to ensure that the projects achieve the set objectives. Major Responsibilities 路 Support Data and I T in ongoing large projects 路 Help review safety process to identify opportunities for automation 路 Support data migration activities 路 Develop documentation to improve user experience 路 Redesign CN鈥檚 Safety SharePoint Site* 路 Compare the Safety site to other SharePoint sites to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement 路 Complete stakeholder analysis to determine user needs 路 Improve user experience based on information gathered Requirements 路 Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) 路 Knowledge in one or more of the following softwares: Access, SharePoint, Enablon, Power BI* 路 Knowledge of or interest in learning about Workplace Safety 路 Applies analytical thinking 路 Communicates with impact 路 Ability to seek opportunities for continuous improvement 路 Takes initiative 路 Fluently bilingual, both written and verbal (English, French)* Education 路 Working towards a Bachelor鈥檚 Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, I T Management *Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset This position is for students who self鈥慽dentify as First Nations, Inuit, and/or M茅tis, the Indigenous peoples of Canada.
