**Job Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and excellent customer service. **MUST HAVE** ***Experience with RAIL OR PORT, MUST BE WILLING TO WORK 5 DAYS A WEEK (MUST Be a hard runner and able to*** complete ***tasks. (start times vary depending on customer, must be able to start super early if need be) this is a 1099 or W2 position, your choice . WILL GO TO NORTHFOLK SOUTHERN RAIL IN CHARLOTTE TO GET LOAD AND MAKE DELIVERY SAME DAY, CAN DO MULTIPLE LOADS IF YOU HAVE THE TIME.***
**Responsibilities**
* Operate tractor\-trailer combinations to transport freight to designated locations.
* Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight.
* Conduct pre\-trip and post\-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
* Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and cargo details.
* Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
* Operate an automatic transmission
**Skills**
* Proven experience as a Truck Driver with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
* Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures.
* Proficient in driving manual transmission vehicles.
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
* Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
* Commitment to safety practices in all aspects of driving and cargo handling.
* Have prior port experience
