**JOB DESCRIPTION:**
**The Shift Lead will train on the 1st shift (Mon \- Thur 6 AM \- 4:30 PM), then will move to the 2nd shift (4:45pm to 3:15am Mon\-Thurs.**

**Essential Functions**

* Understand all facets of work in the cell (basic disassembly, wash, rebuild, and testing of freight and locomotive valves, brake pistons and test devices.
* Proper use of power and manual tools, operations of semi\-automatic equipment, lapping, washes.
* Must oversee OTJ training for all new cell employees.
* Instruct cell employees on work instruction, proper use of all tools and equipment.
* Maintain a 5S environment in the cell at all times and immediately address any and all safety issues.
* Conduct standup meetings, issue instructions for daily goals and shift personnel.
* Work closely with Production Supervisor and Production Manager to ensure rates and goals are met, issues reported and resolved.
* Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
* Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
* Must understand, support, and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures, and instructions.
* Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.
